We are a Jesus-loving, humor-fueled, fun-loving family that has been through a lot in our years together. Through the many ups and downs, we have decided to focus on the joy and the positives as much as humanly possible. There will always be trials and sufferings and hardships, but we choose to put on our perspective glasses and look at life a little differently through humor, sensitivity, possibility, and hope!
Our story began over 20 years ago as a girl and a guy unexpectedly ended up at the same ice hockey game in The Gulf Coast of all places. I was there with a friend who knew him, and I may have inquired about this super handsome polite man. He was there with a friend and the three of them all knew each other. After the game we all went country line dancing and Todd and I haven’t been apart since. I am beyond blessed to get to do life with my best friend in the whole world! We have been blessed with 2 amazing daughters who we love and keep us on our toes.
Through our many joys, sorrows, and trials of our life together we have found our souls longing to keep things as simple as possible, knowing changes will and do come, and to hopefully have the best simple solutions in place not only when struggles come, but in the constant business of our lives 365 days of the year and to share those with you.
For us, simple doesn’t mean minimalism (Read more about that here). It is just keeping things as basic, natural, and functional as possible for however your life presently looks now, knowing it will be always and ever evolving.
Our hope in this blog for you is that you are able to find some encouragement, inspiration, tips, and products to help with the every day of your ever-evolving life.
Come along with us as we explore, discover, and share with you the best simple solutions we have come across in all of our years that will hopefully be a blessing to you and your family as it has been to us and ours and may they continue to keep your ever-evolving life in a forward moving direction as life’s twists and turns continue to surprise and amaze us!
We are so blessed you stopped by and may your day be filled with joy and unexpected blessings and maybe even a good belly laugh!
With love and hope,
Todd, Susan, Mary Evelynn, and Isabella Brown

About Susan
Susan is a sinner saved by grace alone and is a complete and total goofball at heart. She loves Jesus, her man, her kiddos, and her life! She is fluent in sarcasm and humor, a DIY attempter, travel LOVING, former athlete, former young person, craft loving, celebrating enthusiast, professional mover by God’s choice, and current resident of the great state of Texas….Alabama (always on the move it seems!)..
Life is ever and always evolving. Right now for her it looks like living in one of the largest cities in the country living back near the beach in a small community, but it wasn’t always that way. Raised in a small country town, and having moved 10 different times once she left home and then another 10 once she married her best friend, she knows a thing or two about relocating, immersing in local life, meeting people, and living fully right where you are.
She has an insatiable appetite for learning new things and loves to dive headfirst into whatever she is into at the present moment! She has held many varying jobs through her life thus far ranging from waitressing to real estate closing agent, and so much in between.
As a former EMT and later, a caregiver to her c1 quadriplegic mom for 7 years, and having experienced multiple miscarriages, she knows a thing or two about grief and strongly desires to shower others with love and compassion sprinkled with a bit of humor as they walk through their own journey 365 days of the year.
Her love for others is strongly based in the fact that you just don’t know what someone else is going through.
The Lord has seen her through too much to ever doubt what He is doing even when she can’t understand it. He has been faithful and true to her through every struggle and triumph. He continues to be with her amidst the concrete jungle, noise, and business that is the big city life. When she moved to the big city with her husband and kids this was her 10th move in 16 years of marriage. Edited to add we just completed move 11 in 19 years and are BACK IN ALABAMA NOW!
Through the years and her unique circumstances, she has discovered tips, solutions, and ideas that she believes will work for most anyone in most circumstances to help simplify life so you can go out and enjoy LIVING the LIFE that is yours and yours alone!
She believes that having only been given one life and only so much time that our time, energy and money is precious and shouldn’t be wasted on things that just don’t work. After years of her friends constantly asking her what do you recommend for this or for that she is finally heeding their advice to put it all together so they can find it all in one place.
Now, she sits here with a dream and a computer to type on.
Her desire is for you to fully know your worth and your beauty and that you are not the sum total of your circumstances or your history, or what others believe to be true about you. You are so much more than all of that! You are unique. You can change. You can be positive. You can believe. Most of all, you can live and you can love!
Come along for this crazy ride and may every one of your 365 days be blessed!

About Todd
Todd is a Jesus man, husband, and daddy who loves life, traveling, cooking, adventuring, and whose motto is “Life begins outside of your comfort zone.”
He has a strong desire to encourage others to push past their perceived limits as he has experienced firsthand what amazing blessings and growth can happen when you are willing to try.
He is a country boy at heart and loves the outdoors…hunting and fishing and any other reason he can find to spend time outdoors he loves to do it!
Spending much of his time being raised in the country, the irony of him having lived in one of the largest cities in the country is not lost on him. He always tries to be submissive to the Lord about where He wants his family. When they moved to the big city, it was his 10th move in 16 years of marriage. As of this editing, he has completed move 11 in 19 years of marriage and is back in his home state of Alabama. He is a firm believer that all of life really is an adventure and truly is about the journey.
He loves to tell his girls (all 3 of them) how he loves to go to work because he is so thankful to be able bodied thereby being able to work. He is grateful that God is allowing him to influence more and more people for His glory. He loves displaying his love to his family through his hard work and persistence and that most of all he is grateful that he has been blessed with a family to provide for.
After previous trials in life, he is deeply passionate about encouraging and inspiring other men to step up and take care of their families.
He is humble and kind and always on the lookout for ways to serve others. He is definitely the chef in the family and is ingenious when it comes to creating his own on the spot recipes and they 95% of the time turn out to be do-overs! He loves being a dad and is constantly creating bedtime stories for the girls to keep their creative minds inquisitive and longing for more. He is his family’s rock and safe place and he has the best humor of anyone they have ever known.
Todd is always up for the next adventure, and counts this blog among those and would love to hear from you about your life and encourage you in your walk.
